On December 8th I attended Billy Simmonds' "Power Plant" workshop at the Australian Strength Performance training centre. Billy is an Australian natural vegan bodybuilder, martial artist, powerlifter, stunt performer and nutrition consultant, and also holds the title of 2009 Natural Mr Universe - an international title in natural bodybuilding! His experiences and achievements as a plant-based athlete are nothing short of inspiring - he leads by example, breaking the stereotypes, and is living proof that animal products are definitely not needed to build muscle, to get lean and fit, and to succeed and excel in sports and fitness.
Over the weekend I competed in the IFBB Victorian State Titles in the Figure Novice division.
I placed 3rd in tough line-up of 10 competitors, and I was over the moon about bringing home the bronze trophy!

Ok, so it's been a very long time since I've eaten macaroons... but I think these taste a little similar! Which has just now inspired me to attempt an ACTUAL raw vegan macaroon for my next un-baking adventure...
These are lower in protein than my usual recipes, as I managed to refrain from using protein powder for once. However they are still full of healthy fats ;)
